Having first been awarded 'Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant' certification in 2014, Focal has once again been recognised by the French state for its industrial expertise and audio excellence. The Ministry of Economy and Finance has just re-awarded the title to the company for a further five years.
THE EXCELLENCE OF FRENCH EXPERTISE
Created in 2005, the EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) title is a mark of the State’s recognition. It awards French companies that have excellent industrial and traditional expertise and manufacture on French soil. It brings together nearly 1,500 companies that embody strong values such as the ‘high quality of their trade and products, constant attention to internal training, a technically and socially innovative approach and a dynamic commercial strategy’.
Linked to the Ministry of Economy and Finance and managed by the Institut national des métiers d’art (INMA, or National Institute of Arts and Craft), the EPV title plays a part in developing the reputation of companies and encourages their innovation. EPV-certified companies can access a ‘creative’ tax credit of 15%. In addition, INMA offers a programme of activities aimed at promoting the expertise of these companies, both in France and internationally, thanks to advantageous conditions in their export activities

Focal is recognised as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant for its unique acoustic expertise, for training its teams in rare and specialised techniques, for manufacturing at its production and cabinetry workshops in Saint-Etienne and Bourbon-Lancy respectively, and for its many innovative patents. For over 40 years, Focal has established itself as a leader in the manufacture of speaker drivers, high-fidelity loudspeakers for the home, for integration and Home Cinema, audio kits for cars, studio monitors and headphones. In considering speaker drivers and loudspeakers together, by adapting the ranges offered to the demands of different markets and by claiming a sound signature that marries musicality with dynamics, Focal has stood out on the global audio scene and has contributed to the image of French luxury.
We were proud to have been selected for the Made in France exhibition organised by the Elysée Palace in January 2020. We are now proud to have our EPV title renewed. It is a fresh opportunity for us to position ourselves firmly within French economic and cultural identity, and to shine on the global scene.
